Omega-3 Treats in Town
We found some nice places in Berkeley Springs that help you
NIX THE SIX AND EAT THE THREE
with foods that balance vitamin-like omega-3 and omega-6 nutrients.

The "Broiled Seafood Combo" at Temptations Cafe has shrimp, scallops, fish and crab. A "Ceviche Shrimp Cocktail" greets you at Ambrae House. The "Seafood Pizza" at Tony's Pizza has been joined on weekends by new"Omega-3 Pizzas" with special crusts. Tari's provides "Pasta Chesapeake" as one of many omega-3 rich dishes. Warm Springs Cafe has a "Grilled Tuna Sandwich" and Friday Night Seafood. The Earth Dog Cafe has "8oz. Grilled Tuna Steak with Salad".
For more Omega-3s, you can eat beans (green, kidney and pinto), broccoli, Brussels sprouts, cauliflower, cucumbers, flax meal, greens (collard, mustard, turnip), kale, spinach, squash (acorn Hubbard, summer), turnips, cantaloupe, mango, papaya and seafoods (anchovies, bluefish, calamari, clam, crab, halibut, herring, mackerel, oysters, salmon, sardines, shrimp, squid, trout, tuna) to balance the excess Omega-6s that are in other foods.

Use your "Morgan County Menus" booklet (get your copy at the Morgan County Library or the WVU Extension Office) to build your own personal Morgan County Wellness Project and design a winning entry for the "Omega-3 Pizza Contest" or for the Very Short Video Contest on "Foods that Prevent Problems".
